Puyo Amazon Jungle Tour from Banos

Puyo was founded in 1899. Located between Baños, and the Amazonian cities of Tena and Macas, Puyo is the commercial, cultural and political capital of the region. The city is connected by road to AmbatoTena, and Macas and from there to the major urban areas of Ecuador. In late 2006, the city had approximately 25,000 inhabitants. It was the fastest growing city in Ecuador in 2006.[citation needed] The seasonal changes in the climate are relatively small, and daytime temperature typically range between 18-24 °C, with sun and generally short, but heavy periods of rain daily.

Jungle in Ecuador

The Ecuadorian rainforest is among the most beautiful and diverse on the planet, its rich flora and fauna has made it a sanctuary for hundreds of species that are only found in this zone.

The Amazon region of the equator is very large, running from north to south on the eastern flank, where Peru has its border. Despite having lost much of its territory in the Amazon, Ecuador has and is part of this Area considered the lungs of the planet.

The richness of the Ecuadorian forest is not only flora in fauna, it is also in mineral and cultural resources. Its mineral wealth has been the cause for transnational companies to put it in danger due to the pollution caused. Regarding the cultural richness in the Amazon Region of Ecuador in incalculable.

Here We have several ethnic groups such as: Shuar, Achuar, Kichwa, Cofanes, Secoyas, Waoranis, Tagaeri. The Tagaeri barely had contact with civilization, today they are in declared intangible territory
