Highlights

  • We meet 15 minutes before the scheduled departure to check that everything is in order and join the group, our guide will be ready to help you. We left from Banos in the direction of Riobamba, although we will not go through the city but through a secondary way, until we reach the entrance to the Chimborazo Ecological Reserve , from this point we drive for approximately 30min to the First Refuge at 4.300mt.
  • Here we will take our necessary things to walk towards Laguna Condorcocha at 5100mt. We walk very slowly, so that the body adapts to the height and climate. In 1hr more or less we reach the Second Refuge at 5000mt. where we rest and take something light, from here the oxygen starts to be scarce, from here we have 100mt more to Condorcocha , from this point we can not go any further, because it starts the glaciers and we need special equipment to walk on it.
  • After enjoying the beauty, the snow and the wonderfulness of the VOLCAN, we begin our descent, we will also do it calmly because we must avoid altitude sickness. When we reach the first refuge, we will take a short break to start our return to Baños.
  • In these landscapes you will enjoy the flora and fauna of the Ecuadorian paramos, Our guide is always pending and attentive as you can see foxes, llamas, vicuñas, a variety of birds unique to the area.
  • Also this Tour can be mixed with a descent in Bicycle, highly recommended for adventurers who love nature.

Itinerary

Meeting at the office pick up under request

We meet in our office or we pick you up under request, after filling out the registratin we departure towards Riobamba.

Departure&Getting Chimborazo

Departure at 09:00 In about 2:30 we reach the entrance of the Chimborazo Ecological Reserve.

Hike to Condorcocha

After we get the Parking Place we get ready for a hiking up to 5100mt, where we find Condorcocha Lake.

Biking down

We spend a while in Condorcocha then we hike down to the refuge, we rest and eat something before we start biking down the Chimborazo. Remenber to request the Biking on your booking.

Finish and Return

We will bike down for 45min more or less, after this activity we return to Banos city.
